Intelligent Motor Control Centre for Paper Mills

An example of a paper mill has one 6.3kv substation. The pulp preparation process and the papermaking facility employ 400V and 690V low-voltage motors. The finishing process uses 400V motors, and there are another 47 high-voltage motors requiring protection devices. In addition, the mill uses 2 sets of Resonance Eliminating Devices and 571 sets of low-voltage motors. 80 sets of motors require circuits controlled by frequency converter. There are another 66 general outgoing circuits, 32 general motor circuits (without CT) and 11 low-voltage incoming circuits requiring monitoring. In such a large facility, it is of prime importance to monitor the complete electrical system as well as to provide protection and control over low-voltage motors.
